Motorola NTN2570C Mission Critical Wireless Earpiece Kit, 12" Cable with PTT Pod – for APX, XTS & XPR

The Motorola NTN2570C (also sold as the NTN2570, NTN2570A and NTN2570B) is Motorola’s Mission Critical Bluetooth wireless earpiece kit for APX, ASTRO 25 XTS and MOTOTRBO XPR two-way radios. It replaces the earlier NTN2573. The kit pairs a wireless push-to-talk (PTT) pod with an over-the-ear earpiece on a 12-inch cable. That gives firefighters, police officers, EMS crews and public safety users hands-free radio audio with no cord running to the radio. Fast Touch Pairing links the pod to the radio in seconds, and pairing works only within about 2 inches of the radio’s adapter, so the pod can’t pair with someone else’s radio by mistake. The kit is FM Approved and intrinsically safe. It runs about 10 hours on a charge, works up to 33 feet from the radio, and recharges through a micro USB port.

What’s in the Kit

  • Mission Critical wireless PTT pod (NTN2571): Holds the rechargeable battery, provides push-to-talk and connects to the radio over Bluetooth.
  • NTN2572 over-the-ear earpiece with 12-inch cable: The earpiece has an acoustic ear tube and an integrated mic, with an in-line PTT.
  • Clothing clip: Swivel clip for mounting the pod on a collar, epaulet or vest.
  • Micro USB power supply: PS000228A01 charger for the pod.

Key Features

  • Genuine Motorola Mission Critical wireless kit: The original NTN2570C.
  • No cord to the radio: The radio stays on your belt, in a pocket or in a vehicle.
  • Fast Touch Pairing: Pairs in seconds and only within about 2 inches, which prevents unintended pairing.
  • Over-the-ear earpiece: An acoustic ear tube keeps it comfortable through long shifts.
  • 12-inch cable: A short run from a collar- or shoulder-mounted pod to your ear.
  • In-line PTT: Transmit without reaching for the radio.
  • Up to 33-foot range: Covers a vehicle, room or work area.
  • About 10 hours of battery life: Rated at a 5/35/60 duty cycle.
  • Rechargeable lithium-polymer battery: Charges through micro USB.
  • FM Approved, intrinsically safe: For hazardous-location use.
  • Warranty and shipping: 12-month warranty, 30-day money-back guarantee, ships in 2–3 business days.

How the NTN2570C Is Charged

The rechargeable battery is inside the wireless PTT pod. The earpiece has no battery because the pod powers it.

  1. Plug the micro USB charger (PS000228A01, included) into a wall outlet.
  2. Connect the micro USB plug to the charging port on the pod.
  3. Charge until full before your shift. A full charge gives about 10 hours of use.
  4. Unplug, then clip the pod to your collar or vest and pair it with your radio.

Tip: Charge the pod overnight or between shifts, just like your radio battery. Agencies with many users often keep a spare NTN2571B pod charged and ready.

How the NTN2570C Is Used

  1. Charge the pod with the included micro USB charger.
  2. Check your radio: APX radios need the internal Bluetooth board (blue dot). XPR and XTS radios need their Bluetooth adapter.
  3. Pair it: Touch the pod to the radio’s adapter, within about 2 inches, for Fast Touch Pairing.
  4. Clip the pod to your collar, epaulet or vest with the clothing clip.
  5. Hook the earpiece over your ear and route the 12-inch cable to the pod.
  6. Press PTT on the pod or the in-line button to talk. Radio audio plays through the earpiece.
  7. Move freely up to 33 feet from your radio.

Why first responders use it: With no cord to the radio, there’s nothing to snag on gear, doors or vehicle equipment. Your radio can stay on your belt, in turnout gear or in the vehicle, and the earpiece keeps radio traffic private and audible in loud scenes.
