Motorola NNTN8457A Beige Retention Hook 10-Pack for NNTN8385A Neckloop Y-Adapter

Motorola NNTN8457A Beige Retention Hook 10-Pack for NNTN8385A Neckloop Y-Adapter

The Motorola NNTN8457A Retention Hook 10-Pack (also sold as the NNTN8457) contains ten genuine Motorola beige replacement retention hooks for the NNTN8385A wireless neckloop Y-adapter. The Y-adapter is the hub of Motorola’s invisible-earpiece system. It connects the inductive neckloop, the barrel microphone and the wireless PTT pod, and the retention hook helps keep that assembly secure and in place under your clothing. Small hooks are easy to lose, crack or wear out, so the 10-pack keeps a department’s covert kits complete and ready to deploy.

What the NNTN8457A Is Used In

The NNTN8457A hooks are part of Motorola’s completely discreet surveillance setup:

1. Motorola radio: Carried on your belt, in a bag or by a partner.
2. Wireless PTT pod: The NTN2571B pairs with the radio over Bluetooth and provides push-to-talk.
3. Y-adapter with barrel mic: The NNTN8385A plugs into the pod. The barrel mic picks up your voice.
4. Retention hook (NNTN8457A): Fits the Y-adapter and helps keep the adapter and cables in place under clothing.
5. Inductive neckloop: The RLN4920A is worn around your neck and carries radio audio to the earpiece.
6. Wireless earpiece: A tiny receiver in your ear with no wire or tube.

The complete system comes in the NNTN8434A Completely Discreet Surveillance Kit.

Why Replace Retention Hooks?

• Keep the setup secure: A missing or broken hook lets the Y-adapter and cables shift, sag or show.
• Stay covert: A secure assembly stays flat and hidden under your shirt or jacket.
• Small parts get lost: Hooks go missing when kits are packed, swapped or shared.
• Keep kits complete: Ten hooks let a department restock every kit and keep spares.
• Low-cost fix: Replace the hook instead of the whole Y-adapter.

How to Replace the Retention Hook

1. Remove the old hook from the NNTN8385A Y-adapter.
2. Fit a new NNTN8457A hook in the same position on the Y-adapter.
3. Put on the neckloop and Y-adapter under your clothing, and use the hook to hold the assembly in place.
4. Check the fit: The adapter and cables should stay put when you move, bend or turn.
