Motorola NNTN8434A Completely Discreet Wireless Surveillance Kit – Invisible Earpiece, Neckloop & NTN2571 PTT Pod

Motorola NNTN8434A Completely Discreet Wireless Surveillance Kit – Invisible Earpiece, Neckloop & NTN2571 PTT Pod

The Motorola NNTN8434A Completely Discreet Surveillance Kit (also sold as the NNTN8434) is Motorola’s complete invisible-earpiece system for covert radio communication. A tiny wireless earpiece sits hidden deep in your ear with no wire or tube. A beige neckloop worn under your shirt or jacket carries radio audio to it, and a barrel microphone hides under your lapel for talking. Everything connects to the included NTN2571 wireless push-to-talk (PTT) pod, which links to your Motorola APX, XPR or XTS radio over Bluetooth. That means the radio doesn’t have to be on you at all. Motorola notes it can ride in a backpack, purse or briefcase, or even be carried by another officer. To anyone watching, you’re not wearing a radio.

It’s built for undercover officers, federal agents, executive and dignitary protection details, surveillance teams, and high-end hotel, casino and event security: anyone who has to move through a crowd without drawing attention.

What’s in the Kit

• Wireless discreet earpiece: A tiny in-ear receiver with no wire or tube to your ear.
• Lithium polymer battery: Rechargeable, about 8 hours of runtime.
• Beige neckloop with retention hook: Worn under your collar to carry audio to the earpiece.
• Beige Y-adapter: Joins the neckloop and the barrel mic to the PTT pod. The replacement part is the NNTN8385A.
• Barrel microphone: Hides under a lapel or collar for talking.
• Micro USB charging cable: Recharges the earpiece battery.
• NTN2571 wireless PTT pod: Motorola’s Mission Critical pod. It pairs with your radio and provides push-to-talk.

How the NNTN8434A Works

1. Your radio: A Bluetooth-ready Motorola radio. Wear it, put it in a bag, or have a partner carry it.
2. NTN2571 PTT pod (included): Pairs with the radio over Bluetooth. Press it to transmit.
3. Y-adapter with barrel mic (included): Plugs into the pod. The barrel mic picks up your voice.
4. Neckloop (included): Worn around your neck under your clothing. It carries radio audio to the earpiece as a weak magnetic signal.
5. Wireless earpiece (included): Sits in your ear canal and plays the audio. Nothing connects it to your body or the radio.

To set it up:

1. Charge the earpiece with the included micro USB cable.
2. Pair the NTN2571 pod with your radio. Some radios need an adapter or Bluetooth option first (see below).
3. Connect the Y-adapter to the pod, and the neckloop to the Y-adapter.
4. Put on the neckloop under your shirt or jacket and secure it with the retention hook.
5. Place the barrel mic under your lapel or collar.
6. Insert the earpiece into your ear.
7. Press the pod’s PTT and speak into the barrel mic to transmit.

Why Use a Completely Discreet Kit?

• Invisible earpiece: No wire or tube to your ear, so the earpiece is nearly impossible to see.
• Radio off your body: Carry the radio in a bag or vehicle, or have a partner carry it.
• Hidden microphone: The barrel mic tucks under a lapel or collar.
• Wireless PTT: Transmit from the pod without touching the radio.
• Rechargeable earpiece: About 8 hours per charge, recharged over micro USB.
• Complete in one box: Earpiece, neckloop, Y-adapter, mic and pod in one kit.

Radio Requirements

• APX radios: Look for a blue dot on the case, which shows the radio is Bluetooth-ready.
• XPR radios: Need the PMLN5993 Bluetooth adapter, sold separately.
• XTS radios: Need the PMLN5792 wireless adapter, sold separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Motorola NNTN8434A?

The NNTN8434A is Motorola’s Completely Discreet Surveillance Kit. It includes a tiny wireless earpiece, a beige neckloop, a Y-adapter with barrel mic, a micro USB charger and the NTN2571 wireless PTT pod, for covert radio communication with no wire to your ear.

How does an invisible earpiece work?

The neckloop under your clothing sends radio audio as a weak magnetic signal. The tiny wireless earpiece in your ear picks it up. Nothing connects the earpiece to you or the radio, so it’s nearly invisible.

Do I have to wear the radio?

No. Because the PTT pod links to the radio over Bluetooth, the radio can go in a backpack, purse or briefcase, or be carried by another officer.

How long does the earpiece battery last?

About 8 hours per charge. It recharges with the included micro USB cable.

Is the PTT pod included?

Yes. The kit includes the NTN2571 Mission Critical wireless PTT pod. XPR radios need the PMLN5993 adapter and XTS radios need the PMLN5792 adapter, both sold separately. Bluetooth-ready APX radios have a blue dot on the case.

Can I replace parts of the kit?

Yes. The NNTN8385A Y-adapter, NNTN8457A retention hooks, RLN4920A neckloop and NTN2571B pod are all sold separately.

Is this a genuine Motorola kit?

Yes. The NNTN8434A is an original Motorola surveillance kit.
