Charger Pocket Insert Installation

Required tools: 

• Torque Screwdriver set for 6 in-lbs
• Torx T10 Screwdriver bit
• #2 Phillips screwdriver bit

Cleanliness Ensure the place is clean before performing the procedure. Ensure that no debris or liquid enters into the charger. Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Best Practices: Work on a hard surface such as a table, counter top, or plank of wood. Stand on a hard floor such as wood or tile. Wear antistatic clothing. Use an antistatic wristband, or touch metal object throughout the procedure. Use a humidifier in dry weather.

1. Unplug the power cord to the Multi-Unit Charger (MUC).
2. Remove the four screws holding the rear shroud in place by using the #2 Phillips screwdriver bit.The Four Screws on the Rear Shroud 
3. To detach the shroud, hold the rear shroud along the sides and pull it away from the unit.Shroud Removal 
4. Remove the Torx T10 screws on each pocket insert.Pocket Insert Screw Removal 
5. To disengage the pocket insert, slightly lift the back of the pocket insert.
6. To remove the pocket insert, push the pocket insert out towards the front of the unit.Pocket Insert Removal 
7. Unplug the cable for the pocket insert from the unit and observe the orientation of the receptacle.Cable Removal for Each Pocket Insert 
   The connector is keyed and only fits one way into the charger.
8. To install the new pocket insert, plug in the cable.
   The connector is keyed to ensure proper orientation. The procedure results in a half twist of the harness.
   Note: If the connector disengages from the main board after pocket insert installation, reinstall the connector before securing the pocket insert screw.Align and Push down the Connector into the Charger 
9. To ensure it is correctly positioned and tightened in the receptacle, slightly tug on the cable.
10. Align the pocket into the charger and slide it until the pocket snaps into place.The Ferrite Cores Part of the Cable Positioning 
11. Rotate the pocket around and align it to the charger. The wires are half twisted. Do not pull up on the wire harness.
    The screw hole of the pocket aligns to the hole in the charger.
12. Reinstall the T10 screw and tighten to 6 in-lbs.
13. Slide the rear shroud onto the unit. To reinstall the hood, slide both sides forward and lock the tabs into place.Hood Re-Installation Shroud Screws Installation 
14. To secure the shroud, reinstall the four #2 Phillips screws.
15. Plug in the AC power cord into the MUC.
    Ensure all six pocket LEDs illuminate in green color for one second.
